The first Scandinavian biogas conference gathers over 120 participants from 11 countries for two days to share knowledge, to exchange best practices, and to make business contacts.

Bionova Engineering, Svenska Biogasföreningen, Svenskt Gastekniskt Center AB and Finnish Biogas Association organise the first Scandinavian biogas conference that gathers together over 120 people from 11 countries.

The conference is opened by Mr. Mauri Pekkarinen, the Finnish minister of trade and industry. The speakers are internationally acknowledged specialists such as Kjell Aleklett, the president of Association for Peak Oil and Gas, Anders Lewald from Swedish Energy Authority and Peter Boisen from European Natural Gas Vehicle Association amongst others.

The conference treats biogas as vehicle fuel (for cars, buses and trains), biogas as energy source and biogas production. Managing political biogas programs and the joint opportunities between natural gas and biogas are also in program. The first day concentrates on national level biogas policies and large biogas programs and second day focuses on plant level experiences from biogas production, use as vehicle fuel and combined heat and power.

The purpose of the conference is to share knowledge, exchange best practices and hands-on experiences between participants from different countries and to make overseas business contacts. The conference participants represent biogas producers, policymakers, transport specialists and wide variety of other biogas stakeholders from Scandinavia, Baltian countries and rest of Europe.

More information about the conference and the program are available at www.nordicbiogas.org.
