The microturbine is suitable
for many applications where electricity is needed.
One very important application is stationary power generation
where the system is used for continuous power production.
A special kind of continuous power production is combined
heat and power production in which the hot gases leaving
the microturbine are used to heat water or air, to produce
steam or for cooling purposes.
In hybrid electric vehicles, the microturbine can function
as a low-emission battery charger.
The microturbine can also be used to improve power
capacity, quality or reliability in weak grids. In addition,
it can be used for stand-by power and for reducing electricity
demands during peak periods.
